Marcel Julius Joosen | Junior in kader
plaster, life size, sven photographe, paris

This week in Your Daily Male shows works from different periods by the 80-year-old Marcel Julius Joosen.
This sculpture was made in 1998, but the photo is brand new, photographed by Sven Photographe from Paris.

On Thursday, February 8:
Marcel met Adam when he was an asylum seeker and lived in AZC Grave. Adam has been the regular model for Marcel for many years. The statue in development shows the son A.J. from Adam.

On Friday, February 9:
In recent years, Marcel has been experimenting with omitting parts of bodies. In a different way than when framing, he omits the frame here and suggests that the additions still show the entire body of the model.

On Sunday, February 11:
This is the first “Torso in Frame” made by Marcel Julius Joosen.
This kind of cut-out of framed images can be found throughout his oeuvre.
